PROJECT OBJECTIVES
INTRO
Problem: With the reopening of borders in 2023, travel is now experiencing a post-pandemic boom. However, travellers still face multiple challenges when it comes to travel insurance, such as complicated policies with hidden clauses, slow claims processing times, and limited coverage options.
Solution: Introducing Wandersafe – a blockchain-powered travel insurance and payments provider designed to give travelers peace of mind. It offers automated, instant payouts for flight delays and travel mishaps, while also functioning as a comprehensive payment wallet and a secure digital NFT vault for passports and visas. By combining decentralized technology with seamless functionality, Wandersafe ensures instantaneous insurance claims and immutable travel document storage, all in a single app.
The goal of developing Wandersafe was to revolutionize the travel experience by providing a seamless, blockchain-powered solution for instant insurance payouts and secure digital management of travel documents, ensuring travelers have peace of mind and convenience in one intuitive app.
The process for designing Wandersafe’s was kickstarted by aligning on the project’s core objectives: streamlining travel insurance claims and integrating decentralized digital document management. Initial workshops with stakeholders helped define user personas, their pain points, and desired outcomes. From there, surveys and interviews with frequent travelers provided insights into real-world issues like delayed payouts and scattered document storage.

RESULTS
Wandersafe received positive feedback for its usability and innovative use of blockchain technology for instant insurance claims and payouts, appealing to the needs of modern travelers. A focus group of five users tested the high-fidelity prototype, providing valuable insights. While the interface was praised for its intuitive design, some users suggested making the color scheme warmer and more inviting to better align with hospitality platforms like Airbnb. Feedback also pointed out readability challenges due to small body copy and recommended features such as integration with Apple Wallet for medical documentation.Notably, all participants successfully navigated the prototype, indicating that the app's design effectively supported user goals and scenarios, validating its user-friendliness and functionality.
